(j.payne1991's) Card of the Day - 30/07/2009 - Absol G SV

I have decided to do my own little card of the cay today, this doesn't mean you cannot do yours Donezator. I have decided to go against the rules slightly here and have gone for a card coming out in the next set, Supreme Victors.

I think this card has so much potential. It is a Darkness Pokemon, which is nice as it can do huge damage output with Special Darkness Energy. Feint Attack is carrying on the tradition of current Darkness Pokemon, Snipe and Spread, 20 damage to any one of your Opponent's Pokemon, 30 with Special Darkness Energy, now that is a great attack. It becomes interesting with its second attack, "Doom News", What a name! What an attack it is, Return all Energy attached to Absol G to your hand and on your opponents next turn the defending Pokemon is knocked out. There are a couple of drawbacks here though;

Switch
Warp Point
Retreat
Poke Turn
Super Scoop Up

It has 70HP which is fair for a SP Pokemon, it also the same as the normal version from Secret Wonders. X2 Fighting Weakness, Okay, not good but not too bad either due to the decline in Machamp decks recently. -20 Psychic Resistence is very good, It can take a couple of hits from Gallade 4 decks and ToxiTank, aswell as a few others. 1 Retreat Cost is fine as Moonlight Stadium fixes this.

Overall I rate this card very highly and would love to obtain 3 of these and the Level X.

Lol was just getting mine ready Not so sure about this yet, like you mentioned there are a lot of cards to prevent Doom News (Including just a regular retreat), so I can't see any decks being built around this 1 attack (Despite how good it may be . 70 Hp is low, but could be made back to 90 with Snowpoint temple. Feint attack is OK for 20, quite a basic attack. I would only use this for LV X personally

That is primarily what I also would use it for but you cannot take anything away from this card. It can be, if run correctly, the answer to the format. It can also be run with so many things such as;

Flygon Lv.X + Weavile (Ultimate Discard & Lost Zone)
Dialga G Lv.X (Lock, Spread & Lost Zone)
ToxiTank (Posion, High Damage & Lost Zone)
Manetric + Honchkrow G (Spread, Snipe & Lost Zone)
Absol G (Spread, High Damage & Lost Zone)
Giratina Lv.X (Discard, Spread, Lost Zone & Big Damage)

It has a lot of possibilties and none of which revolve around Doom News, It would mainly be used for spread damage and its Level X, which is fantastic. (Anyone gets any at Prerelease let me know.)

The move doom move is perish song but quicker!Return all energy to your hand attach it to another pokemon during three turns.Brilliant card i might run it when it comes out!7/10

As it has already been said, this card has great amounts of potential, it is very versatile and can work in numerous decks. If anyone should get any at any of the upcoming Supreme Victors Prereleases, please let me know on here.
